Temp to Hire
Some of our client companies will hire an individual on a temp to hire basis. These positions could lead to full-time or regular employment. Your temporary assignment actually becomes a working interview. You are eligible for regular or full-time employment once you have completed 520 hours, which is actually three months. You have the opportunity to interview the client company during the three-month period, as well as the client company reviewing your performance, attitude, and qualifications.

"Employment at Will"
Employment at Meador Staffing Services is employment-at-will. All employees may be terminated with or without cause and with or without notice at any time. Similarly, an employee may terminate the employment relationship at any time. This manual is for providing information about Meador Staffing Services and its policies. Meador Staffing Services reserves the right to modify, revoke, suspend, terminate or change any plans, policies, or procedures in whole or in part, at any time with or without notice. No manager, supervisor, or employee of the company has the authority to enter into an agreement with an employee for any specified period of time or to make any agreement for employment other than on at at-will basis. Only the President or CEO of the company has the authority to enter into a written contract of employment.

What Meador Staffing Services Expects from You in Order to be Successful on the Job
When you are hired as one of our employees and sent on an assignment, it is because you are the best person available for the job.  We feel your skills and capabilities will benefit the client. When you are working at one of our client companies, you are representing Meador Staffing Services and the client companies where you will be working.

Meador Staffing Services is your employer. We are not an employment agency. We do not charge our employees a fee to locate a job. Our client companies pay for our services. You will also be expected to

  • Keep your commitment, be on time, and be dependable.
  • Always show up for the assignment and observe the client's business hours.
  • If at any time you are unable to work, call your Staffing Consultant at least one hour prior to the scheduled starting time of the assigned workday and explain your circumstances.
  •  If it is after hours, please page your Staffing Consultant by using the following on-call pager numbers:

Please do not call and leave a voice mail message. Make sure you talk with a Staffing Consultant.

  • Never walk off the job assignment without first contacting your Staffing Consultant. If there is a problem, your Staffing Consultant can normally respond to it over the phone.
  • Notify us whenever your personal status changes, such as your name, address, telephone number, pager number, dependents status, work status, or persons to notify in case of emergency.
  • Never drive any vehicle while on an assignment. It is specifically prohibited without proof of insurance and permission from your Staffing Consultant. If you are asked to drive a vehicle while on the assignment, please contact your Staffing Consultant immediately.
  • Please provide your Staffing Consultant with a doctor's statement for absences due to illness after absences of three days or more.
  • Maintain confidentiality. Do not discuss confidential information about the company where you are assigned. Also, never discuss your pay with any other Meador Staffing Services' employee or employee of the client.

Contact your Staffing Consultant if any of the following situations occur:

  • If you are asked to work overtime (It is the only way to make sure you receive the overtime rate for those hours worked.)
  • If you are unable to go to work because of an illness or emergency
  • If you have any questions regarding your timecard or paycheck
  • If you have improved or gained new skills (We want to make sure we update your employee file and add your new skills.)
  • If you are offered a full-time, direct hire job while on assignment
  • If you are doing work that is different from the job description your Staffing Consultant gave you, or the working environment is unsafe
  • If you find out that your job assignment is coming to an end

We want to make sure we find another job for you.

  • If you have friends, relatives, or know anyone else who would like to work for Meador Staffing Services (We are always looking for qualified people like you, and you will receive a referral bonus.)
  • If you are injured on the job
  • If you are unable to go to work

Availability Line
You can contact each of our offices to report your availability 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When calling in your availability, please leave your name, skills, telephone number, who you interviewed with, and when you are available to work. Our branch offices have a voicemail system, so you can always contact them after normal business hours and leave your availability information. On-Call Cell Phones
We are available to take your emergency calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All of our offices carry a pager and require that you contact them by using their cell number when you cannot report to work, when you are lost and cannot find the company's location, when you are injured on the job, and other situations that would be designated as an emergency. Do not leave a message on the voice mail system. The sooner you page us, the sooner we can assist the client.  Listed below is each office's on-call number:

Tips for a Successful Career with Meador Staffing Services

Your success as a Meador Staffing Services' employee depends on your performance on each assignment. Here are some suggestions for making each assignment a success:

  • Arrive at your assignment on time, or a few minutes early. In case of emergency, contact your Staffing Consultant immediately.
  • Wear proper attire. Your Staffing Consultant will inform you of each client's dress code and will be happy to provide suggestions on dress code if you would like.
  • Introduce yourself to the person to whom you are reporting. You can use the business cards you receive in your first paycheck. Employers remember the employees that are star performers and will request you back when they have other assignments.
  • Be adaptable and flexible. Do your best to adjust to the routines of each company and establish good relationships with everyone at the company.
  • Ask questions concerning the work you are to do, how to properly answer the telephone, important names to remember, when and where you are to eat lunch, take breaks, etc.
  • Exercise good judgment when using all office equipment. Don't leave equipment running unless appropriate. If you don't know how to operate a piece of equipment, ask for help before attempting to use it.
  • Show initiative. When you complete your work, notify your supervisor and ask if there is anything else that you can do.
  • Don't read newspapers or magazines, make personal phone calls, or take other employees away from their work.
  • Avoid making personal phone calls and receiving e-mail messages and pages while on assignment. Leave our office phone number as your emergency number should someone need to contact you.
  • Be discreet and keep confidential information to yourself.
  • Have a good attitude, be enthusiastic and smile.
  • Leave a good impression. Make sure your work area is neat and organized before you leave the assignment. Leave one of your business cards or a thank-you note to ensure you will be requested back for further assignments.

Your Paycheck
Timecards are YOUR responsibility. Be sure to complete the following information on your timecard each week:

  • Assignment status and "new address" if you have moved
  • Name and signature
  • Social Security number
  • Week ending date (Sunday of the week you worked)
  • Time in, time out, and total hours (less lunch) each day
  • Total straight time hours
  • Total overtime hours (initialed by a supervisor)
  • Supervisor's signature
  • Company name/division
  • Work order number (this number will be given to you by the Staffing Consultant for each job assignment)

If you fax your timecard, it is your responsibility to call and confirm that our accounting department has received your faxed timecard. You can verify your faxed timecard by calling our accounting department at 713.986.0508. If the client faxes your timecard, please contact our accounting department on Monday to verify that the timecard or group timesheet has been received.

Failure to complete your timecard will create a delay in you receiving your paycheck. Anyone falsifying hours on timecards will be prosecuted.

Timecards must be received at the Meador Staffing Services office by Monday at 5:00 p.m. If you fax your timecard, please fax it to 713.943.1624.  Paychecks may be picked up at each of our offices on Wednesday. Please locate the office you work from below for their designated hours on payday:

Pasadena - 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Bay Area - 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Deer Park - 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 pm.
Pearland - 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Woodlands - 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Northwest - 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

If you do not pick up your paycheck at one of our offices, it will be mailed on Wednesday.

Direct Deposit is also available for our employees. Contact your Staffing Consultant for more information.

If you would like your check to be held at one of our offices, please contact your Staffing Consultant. If you tell us to add your name to our "permanent hold list", we will not mail your check. It will be held until you pick it up. 

Please let your Staffing Consultant know at which office you would like to pick up your check. For example, if you are working with our Bay Area office, live in Pasadena, and would like to pick your check up at our Pasadena office, you must let us know so we can ensure that the check is placed in our Pasadena office checks. 

If you wish to authorize someone other than yourself to pick up your paycheck, it is your responsibility to provide us with a written consent authorizing Meador Staffing Services to release your paycheck to that individual. You can pick up a form at one of our offices to complete, and we will retain it in our files. The individual picking up your paycheck must have proper identification.
